Welcoming Prof. Amir Yacoby and Dr. Uri Vool to Jeju — ISPSA 2026
It was a great pleasure to welcome Prof. Amir Yacoby (Harvard University) and Dr. Uri Vool (Max Planck Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids, Dresden) to Jeju during ISPSA 2026 (June 28 – July 2, 2026). Prof. Yacoby delivered a plenary lecture, "Local Probes of Spin Excitations in Quantum Matter," and for Dr. Vool this was a very first visit to Korea. On June 29–30, between the sessions, we explored the island together — Seongsan Ilchulbong (Sunrise Peak) and Seopjikoji — and shared many wonderful moments (and a memorable seafood dinner!). We are especially grateful to Prof. Sanghoon Kim for inviting Prof. Yacoby and making this visit possible.
ISPSA 2026(2026년 6월 28일–7월 2일, 제주) 기간에 하버드대학교의 Amir Yacoby 교수님과 막스플랑크 화학물리연구소(MPI-CPfS, 드레스덴)의 Uri Vool 박사님을 제주에서 모시게 되어 매우 기뻤습니다. Yacoby 교수님께서는 "Local Probes of Spin Excitations in Quantum Matter"를 주제로 플레너리 강연을 해주셨고, Vool 박사님께는 이번이 첫 한국 방문이었습니다. 6월 29–30일, 학회 사이사이 성산일출봉과 섭지코지를 함께 둘러보며 즐거운 시간을 보냈습니다(맛있는 해산물 저녁도 함께했지요). Yacoby 교수님을 초청해 주신 김상훈 교수님께 깊이 감사드립니다.
