Quantum Machines OPX+ & Octave installed as our qubit controller
Another key piece of our quantum-sensing platform is in place: we have installed a Quantum Machines OPX+ together with the Octave up/down-conversion module as the qubit controller for the lab. The OPX+ is a real-time pulse processor that generates and acquires the precisely timed microwave and RF sequences needed to coherently control and read out nitrogen-vacancy (NV) spins, while the Octave handles the RF up- and down-conversion. It will drive the qubit control for our NV confocal scanning magnetometer, enabling pulsed protocols — Rabi, Ramsey, spin echo, and beyond — for coherent quantum sensing. Exciting times ahead for the lab!
